Day 1

  • Barista Basics – Introduction to all aspects of a Barista
  • Coffee Tasting – How should coffee taste? What is a blend? How is it made? Where does it come from?
  • The operations of a coffee machine
  • How to operate and adjust the grinder
  • Making coffee within the first hour! (Cappucino, Flat White, Caffe Latte, Mocha, Hot Chocolate and more)
  • Cleaning and maintaining a coffee machine and grinder

Day 2

  • Coffee Making – Practice makes perfect
  • Review of Day 1 and practical application
  • The making of a Barista – Starting to work with multiple coffees
  • Coffee making as a habit and creating your own special touch

Day 3

  • Coffee Making (morning)
  • Working with full cream/soy/skim/lite milk
  • Making different combinations of coffee orders and working with systems
  • Learning the reality of barista work in cafes

Day 4

  • Table Service for cafes and restaurants
  • Visit a local café/restaurant to observe everyday operations and experience what it's like to work on the other side
  • Speed work
  • Review of key skills and competencies in becoming a complete café allrounder
  • Tips on finding the right job and how to prepare for an interview

Day 5

  • Latte Art
  • The importance of milk texture
  • How to maintain consistency with textured milk
  • How to pour your first latte art cup
  • Different styles and designs of latte art
  • To experiment and discover your own inner creativity
